Support staff

Our research and outreach programmes highly depends on the work of several supporting staff. Below is a list of key persons involved in our work.  

 

Dinesh

Dinesh hails from the upper reaches of Anamalai Hills. He is an expert in handling snakes and other reptiles. His expertise contributed largely to WRCT's ecological investigations on the elusive reptiles of the Western Ghats.

 

K. Mohandas

He is a native of the Attapady Hills. Mohandas an expert in identifying the rainforest fauna and flora (with scientific names!). He has worked on several field projects of WRCT from beginning and continue as a key part of the team. 

 

Rajan

An enchanting personality with high loads of self esteem and responsibility, Rajan assisted WRCT in our lepidopteron research in the unpredictable forests at Silent Valley National Park.

 

P. Sainudheen

A butler turned field assistant, who provides delicious cuisine even at the higher altitudes. He is an expert in locating the nests cryptic bird species of the rainforests. 

 

L. Mari

The most wanted supporting staff of Silent Valley National Park, Mari inherited his field knowledge from his late  legendary father Lachi Moopan, who traversed the silent valley in early 70's. He continues to be part of several WRCT projects in operation at the Attapady Hills.

 

R.B. Ratheesh Mon

A young vibrant highly enthusiastic fellow, Ratheesh is an expert in locating rare epiphytes. He is part of several ecological projects of WRCT.
